TEACH U HOW TO DO SBQ :D
THIS IS PURELY DONE BY ME IT IS CLOSE TO 100% ACCURATE BUT AS IM A HUMAN I MAKE MISTAKES TOO.

SO IF U GET WRONG TOO BAD :D

Provenance-The little paragraph telling u the origin and speaker/writer of the picture/speech/statement

Inference-A smart , logical guess :D (RED)

Evidence-A short paragraph in the source tat supports the inference(BLUE)

Example. Source A shows the never dying spirit of the Sinhalese Soldier. This is evident as the Sinhalese not giving up even though he is injured.

Tone- the tone of speaker (sad, angry, happy, negative, positive)
IMPORTANT: PICTURES NEVER HAVE TONE
The tone of the speaker for source B is negative towards the treatment of the Sinhalese. This is evident as the source says “They have been treated like dirt!”

Purpose- 4 main points. KEYWORD(K)---SPECIFIC AUDIENCE(SA)---ACTION(A)---EVIDENCE(E)

Keywords includes example encourage/discourage to instill a sense of fear, patriotism

The Sinhalese wanted to encourage (K) the Sinhalese (SA) to fight (A) the Tamils Tigers.
This is evident as the source A shows” the Sinhalese Soldiers not giving up despite being injured”(E)

C&C is known as Compare and contrast.

1(a)
Study source A
What does the source tell you about the situation surrounding the bloody Sunday incident.
-Provenance
-2 inferences + evidences

1(b)
Study source B and C (C&C)
How different are these sources? Explain your answer/what are the differences of these source
-Difference in provenance
-Different in content
-Different in tone (ignore if no tone)
-Different in Purpose
Note: comparing provenance is not really necessary.
Usually I would just compare content then tone followed by purpose.

1(c)
Study source D and E (C&C)
How similar are these sources? Explain your answer/what are the similarities of these sources
-1 difference in content.
-1 similarity in content
-1 difference in tone/1 similarity in tone (either one )
-1 difference in purpose/1 similarity in purpose (either one)

1(d)
Study source z
Why was this photo published (usually a picture)
When u see WHY in a question, PURPOSE WILL BE INVOLVE
-Provenance
-Inference for content + evidence
-purpose
Example-
Source A is a photograph of a Sinhalese Soldier against the Tamil Tigers published in the Sinhalese Papers (provenance)
Source A shows the never dying spirit of the Sinhalese Soldier. This is evident as the Sinhalese not giving up even though he is injured. (inference+evidence)
The Sinhalese wanted to encourage the Sinhalese to fight the Tamils Tigers.
This is evident as the source A shows” the Sinhalese Soldiers not giving up despite being injured”
(Purpose)

1(f)
Study source F
Do you believe what this source says about the British? Explain.(Reliability)
When you see BELIEVE in the question means that there is Reliability.
1st paragraph: state your stand. Believe or don’t believe. Inference + evidence. After your evidence include this source F is reliable/not reliable
2nd paragraph: Find one source that agrees ( Using the same evidence of the 1st paragraph.)
3rd paragraph: Provenance-whether the writer of the source is trustable or not.

Example:
Yes, I believe the source it showed that the British Soldiers is violent as seen in the photo “attacking an unarmed person
Source B also agrees with source F as it showed that the British were attacking an unarmed person as seen “I saw no one shooting at the troops” Thus this prove tat source F is reliable

THIS WAS MADE BY ATYJ
do not copy!
